What Paired's free plan includes
According to Paired's FAQ, the free plan gives you one shared question each day. You both answer, then see each other's answers. That is a real habit-builder, and some couples never need more. Everything else (the quiz and game library, insights, topic packs, expert tips and activities) is Premium.
What Paired Premium adds, and what it costs
Premium unlocks more than 1,000 questions, quizzes and games, weekly personalized insights, a daily activity checklist, topic packs from money to intimacy, expert tips from therapists and weekly "Secret Missions" for both of you. One subscription is shared once you are paired. It costs $14.99 a month, or a yearly plan listed at $74.99 in the US App Store and $79.99 on Paired's site, with a 7-day trial and frequent seasonal discounts.
Is it worth it? If the two of you will open it most days and like structured exercises, around $6.50 a month on the yearly plan is reasonable. If you mostly want the daily question, Premium is a lot to pay for the rest.
Where Lovely fits (our app)
We make Lovely, so weigh this section accordingly. It is the newest app on this page (launched August 2025, built by one developer) and it has far fewer reviews than Paired: 4.6 stars from 14 ratings on the US App Store. Judge it on what it does, not on popularity.
What it does: a daily question you both answer (with text, true or false, or a photo), home-screen widgets (a countdown until you meet, a live shared drawing that appears on your partner's screen, the distance between you), a shared canvas, a journal, snaps that disappear after 24 hours, and two-player games like Tic-Tac-Toe and a story you build one line at a time. It works in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German, and an iPhone can pair with an Android phone.
Price: free to download, and Premium is $24.99 a year or $9.99 a month with a 7-day trial. One subscription covers both of you. That makes it the cheapest yearly plan of any app compared here.
