Paired and Agape are two of the best-rated couples apps, and they look alike at first: a question for the two of you every day. Under that, they are built differently. Agape is a one-question-a-day habit, Paired is a full relationship program with quizzes, games and expert courses. Here is how they compare, with prices checked in October 2026.
Disclosure: we make Lovely, a couples app, and it appears on this page with its weak spots stated. Everything else is from each app's own site and App Store listing.

Depth. Paired gives you a daily question or quiz, but the reason people pay is everything around it: more than 1,000 quizzes and games, guided journeys on topics from money to love languages, weekly personalized insights and courses written with therapists and relationship researchers. It was Apple's App of the Day in August 2026 and has over 200,000 ratings. One Premium subscription unlocks it for both partners.
The catch is the free plan: it is one shared question a day. Almost everything else needs Premium, which is $14.99 a month or around $75-80 a year.

Simplicity. Agape asks one question a day, personalized to your relationship, and you only see your partner's answer after giving yours. Questions are reviewed by a relationship researcher, and you can opt into categories such as long distance, engagement, parenting or faith; spicy questions only appear if you both opt in. The free plan includes the daily question and the core categories, which is more generous than Paired's. Its 26,000 ratings average 4.8.
What it does not have: games, quizzes, courses or widgets. It also had not been updated since April 2026 when we checked.

We make Lovely, so weigh this section accordingly. It is the newest app on this page (launched August 2025, built by one developer) and it has far fewer reviews than Paired or Agape: 4.6 stars from 14 ratings on the US App Store. Judge it on what it does, not on popularity.
What it does: a daily question you both answer (with text, true or false, or a photo), home-screen widgets (a countdown until you meet, a live shared drawing that appears on your partner's screen, the distance between you), a shared canvas, a journal, snaps that disappear after 24 hours, and two-player games like Tic-Tac-Toe and a story you build one line at a time. It works in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German, and an iPhone can pair with an Android phone.
Price: free to download, and Premium is $24.99 a year or $9.99 a month with a 7-day trial. One subscription covers both of you. That makes it the cheapest yearly plan of any app compared here.
Daily questions, love widgets for your home screen, a shared canvas and games โ with your partner, even long distance.
Paired does more: quizzes, games, expert courses and insights on top of a daily question. Agape does one thing, a personalized daily question, and its free plan is more generous. Pick Paired for a program, Agape for a habit.
The daily question and core categories are free. Premium categories need a subscription; the App Store lists monthly plans from $9.99 and a lifetime option at $199.99.
$14.99 a month or a yearly plan listed at $74.99 in the US App Store ($79.99 on Paired's site), with a 7-day trial. One subscription covers both partners.
For Paired, no: one Premium subscription is shared once you are paired. Agape does not state it. Lovely also shares one subscription between both of you.
Of the apps compared here, Lovely has the cheapest yearly plan at $24.99 for both partners. Agape's App Store list starts at $19.99 a year on some offers.
